In October of 2007, Gregory Price Williams (39) a retired highly decorated Law Enforcement Officer and former K9 Trainer became the first Afro-American in the history of Land Speed Racing to  surpass the infamous 200 MPH barrier. Gregory did so with a top speed of 205.4 MPH in a standing mile at the Texas Mile in Goliad, Texas. www.texasmile.com
On June, 29th 2008 Gregory and his HPC racing team pushed the envelope further with Hyperbike Performance Centers second edition ZX-14 nick-named “Chance”. The ZX-14 was rebuilt from the previous platform used on their nationally known ZX-14 “Inferno”. All of the performance and electrical components were enhanced along with the chassis set-up. Greg previously ran a best speed of 203 MPH at Maxton in 2007 and moved the bar further with a top speed in the standing mile of 212.6 MPH.
Gregory is no light weight professional jockey. He weighs in at 6’0 225lbs dressed and has been Land Speed Racing for only two years and has no other race experience.
